Bubba Watson: Has a Masters victory on his CV
The Bubba Watson story took another amazing twist last year when he produced a moment of magic to secure the Green Jacket in a play-off.
The 34-year-old left-hander from Bagdad, Florida is completely self-taught and relishes his ability to hit outrageous shots - he calls it 'Bubba Golf'.
He's also a fiercely proud Christian, a joker with self-diagnosed attention deficit syndrome, an internet sensation as part of joke band The Golf Boys and a country kid who idolises the TV show The Dukes of Hazzard.
Bearing all this in mind many overlooked his chances of ever winning a major but it all rather made sense when the monster hitter with magic in his wrists triumphed at Augusta last year as it seemed the perfect recipe to succeed.
His sensational recovery shot at the 10th hole in the play-off - a hooked wedge from the foliage - will be replayed forever and is one that very few could even have imagined let along executed.
He's not won since but 14 top 25s from 20 starts shows he's embraced his new-found status as a major champion.
In theory, Watson's unorthodox and rather untamed game should not suit the tight, severe test of a US Open, but the left-hander proved he can flourish at the event with a fifth-placed finish at Oakmont in 2007.
His best effort since was a T18 at Bethpage two years later, although he has missed the cut on two of his five appearances including at Olympic Club last year.
