Brendan Jones: Muirfield bound
Brendan Jones earned himself a place at The Open with victory at the Mizuno Open at the Setonaikai Golf Club in Japan.
The Australian posted a final round four-under 68 to finish three strokes clear of Kim Tae-kyung.
Jones who began the day with a two-shot lead over South Korea's Kim, eagled the long sixth then mixed five birdies with three bogeys for a tournament 19-under total of 269.
He will now make his third appearance at The Open at Muirfield next month.
"I never imagined I would be able to do something like that," said Jones, who picked up the $221,000 winner's cheque.
The 38-year-old is now the leading non-Japanese money earner on the Japan Golf Tour after his 13th win took his career earnings to $8.5m.
Kim finished with a 69 to secure second place with Japan's Makoto Ioune finished in third place at 13-under.
