The Open 2013

18th-21st July

Presented by

Dustin Johnson

Just when it seemed as if injury might turn 2012 into a year to forget for the big-hitting Johnson, he demonstrated his huge talent by winning Sunday's St Jude Classic in just his second tournament back after spending three months on the sidelines with a back problem. It was the sixth win of his short career and meant Johnson became the first player since Tiger Woods to win in each of his first five seasons on Tour after leaving college. The 27-year-old could already be a multiple major winner. In 2010, he blew a three-shot 54-hole lead in the US Open at Pebble Beach before, two months later, falling foul of a rules decision on the 72nd hole at Whistling Straits which saw his play-off spot in the PGA Championship taken away. Last year he made another bold bid, finishing tied second in The Open at Royal St George's when a late push to try and reel in Darren Clarke ended with a drive out of bounds at 14. Still, with a top 15 the year before at St Andrews he's clearly a fan of links golf and when everything clicks he's one of the biggest talents in the game.
