The KLM Open returns to Hilversum for the third year in a row and for a seventh time since 2000. This flat, parkland venue has been in existence for more than 80 years, with the club itself going back to 1910. Eight of the holes being used this week were built in 1922, with the remaining 10 opened six years later. The layout underwent a revamp four years ago, although it remains void of any water hazards. Situated 25 miles south-east of Amsterdam, the Hilversumche GC first staged - what is essentially the Dutch Open - in 1923.

So who's teeing-up in Thursday's opening round?

Nicolas Colsaerts: Belgium's Ryder Cup rookie - now inside the world's top-40 - will hope to maintain his excellent form across the border in the Netherlands. Jamie Donaldson: The Welshman is enjoying the golfing year of his life. A maiden European Tour title arrived in Ireland in early July and he posted a top-10 finish in the final major championship of the season at Kiawah Island last month. He also finished in a tie-for-9th in Switzerland over the weekend. Martin Kaymer: Has struggled for much of 2012 but, having just scraped into Europe's Ryder Cup team, the German should feel a little more relaxed when he tees-up on a course where he won in 2010. No top-six finishes this season. Joost Luiten: The Dutchman would love to win on home soil, having tied-for-6th at Hilversum last year. Played well for three days last week - he posted a third round 63 in Switzerland - only to slip down the leaderboard on Sunday. David Lynn: A former champion at Hilversum where he also finished second 12 months ago. The 38-year-old Englishman finished in a tie-for-11th at Crans-sur-Sierre on Sunday, which followed on from his excellent runner-up finish at the PGA Championship during August. Danny Willett: A winner in Germany during June, the in-form Sheffield golfer shared second spot with three other pros at the weekend in the Swiss Alps.
