Marc Warren was one of 10 players to secure a place in the Open Championship over the weekend after edging out fellow Scot Stephen Gallacher by just £754.
The top five players, not already exempt, in the top 20 of the Race to Dubai after the French Open booked a trip to Muirfield, with runner-up Richard Sterne, Brett Rumford, Mikko Ilonen, Thomas Bjorn and Warren now heading to East Lothian.
Warren was the most relieved of the quintet after dropping five shots in four holes from the 13th in his final round at Le Golf National.
A closing 73 meant Warren, who lost a play-off for the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in May, dropped into a tie for 13th, one shot behind Gallacher in joint eighth.
That lifted Warren from 21st in the money list to 17th with £517,494, while Gallacher moved from 23rd to 18th with £516,740, just £754 adrift.
Following the conclusion of the Greenbrier Classic in the States, the five FedEx Cup exemptions were confirmed as Billy Horschel, Boo Weekley, Russell Henley, Jimmy Walker and Harris English.
