The US Open will return to Winged Foot in 2020, the United States Golf Association have announced.
The New York venue will host the major for the first time since 2006, when Geoff Ogilvy lifted the title after one of the most infamous final days in the tournament's history.
"We're thrilled to bring the US Open back to this outstanding club," said USGA vice president Thomas J O'Toole Jr.
"Winged Foot offers a spectacular setting in a dynamic market and has justifiably earned its reputation as one of the premier US Open venues in the nation."
Ogilvy's win in 2006 was overshadowed by the final-hole collapses of Colin Montgomerie and Phil Mickelson, who both double-bogeyed the 72nd hole when a bogey would have been enough to force a play-off with the Australian.
After draining a spectacular 75-foot putt for birdie at 17, Montgomerie split the fairway with his drive before blocking his approach into dense rough and taking four more to get down.
And in the final group, Mickelson carved his drive way left, hit a tree with an ambitious second and dumped his third into a bunker as he also stuttered to an ugly closing six.
Jim Furyk had earlier missed a four-foot par putt on 18 that would have tied Ogilvy, while Padraig Harrington bogeyed the final three holes and finished two strokes adrift.
Ogilvy chipped in to save par at 17 and got up and down for a four at the last to finish on five over par on a final day in which the lead changed hands no fewer than 15 times.
