Teenage sensation Matt Fitzpatrick will turn professional next month following the US Open Championship in North Carolina.

The 19-year-old from Sheffield will compete at Pinehurst as an amateur before making his professional debut at the Irish Open a week later.

In August of last year Fitzpatrick became the first Englishman since 1911 to win the US Amateur title and he is hoping to earn invitations to compete on the European Tour after turning pro.

He joins International Sports Management whose chief executive Andrew Chandler said: "In Garrick Porteous and Matthew we are immensely proud to have the current British Amateur and US Amateur champions on our books.

"Matthew has enjoyed a whirlwind 12 months and the way he has conducted himself, both on and off the course, has been mightily impressive.

"He has the talent and temperament to achieve whatever he wants to in the game and we are delighted to have the opportunity to help him do just that."

Fitzpatrick missed the cut at the Masters in April by a single shot and then finished tied 23rd at the PGA Tour event staged at Harbour Town the following week.
