Brandt Snedeker: World number four not yet ready to return to action
Brandt Snedeker has decided to sit out another World Golf Championship tournament in order to make sure he is fit for the Masters.
The American has not played since he won the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am on February 10 due to soreness in his left ribs.
The world number four decided to withdraw from last week's WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship as a precaution, but planned to return for the WGC-Cadillac Championship next week at Doral.
However Snedeker has revealed his ribs remain tender so he has decided to swerve a trip to the TPC Blue Monster with a view to returning at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill on March 21.
Snedeker has broken par in 33 out of his last 37 rounds, and he had 10 straight rounds in the 60s when he finished up at Pebble Beach.
He will not be replaced in the field at Doral next week.
This year's Masters takes place at Augusta National from April 11-14.
