Pablo Larrazabal and Thorbjorn Olesen have been named by skipper Miguel Angel Jimenez as his two wild card picks for the European team ahead of next month's EurAsia Cup match in Thailand.

The Spaniard and Dane will join the eight automatic qualifiers for the three-day match against Asia at Glenmarie Country Club in Kuala Lumpur which tees-off on March 27.

Larrazabal is already a winner in 2014, as he fended off Rory McIlroy and Phil Mickelson on the final day in Abu Dhabi last month.

Olesen also played during the Desert Swing, following a top-three finish in Qatar, with a tie-for-fifth in Dubai.

Larrazabal and Olesen will join up with Thomas Bjorn, Jamie Donaldson, Victor Dubuisson, Gonzalo Fernandez-Castaño, Stephen Gallacher, Joost Luiten and Graeme McDowell who have already qualified alongside playing-captain Jimenez.

Larrazabal said in a statement: "I made a great start to the season with the win in Abu Dhabi and I hope to repay Miguel's faith in me."

Olesen added: "Being part of the winning Seve Trophy team last year will definitely help me."

Talking about his wild cards, Jimenez went on: "Both boys have made great starts to 2014.

"Pablo's victory was very impressive. To shoot 67 in the final round to hold off players like McIlroy and Mickelson was a fantastic achievement while Thorbjørn has been coming into form recently.

"I have a very strong group of players and a very good mix of youth and experience.

"It will be very tough to go to Malaysia and win because the Asian team is also very strong but I believe if my players play to their abilities then Europe can triumph."

The match is being sponsored by Malaysian company DRB-HICOM with the Asia team to be led by Thailand's Thongchai Jaidee.
