Louis Oosthuizen blazed past Scott Jamieson to win the Volvo Golf Champions with a final round 66.

Halfway leader Oosthuizen had stumbled in round three with a 74 dropping him to tied second and that left Scotland's Jamieson five clear with 18 to play.

But Sunday was a different story as world number six Oosthuizen cruised to the turn in four-under 32 and added further birdies at 10, 11 and 14 to take control.

-16 L Oosthuizen (Rsa)

A bogey at 16 gave Jamieson brief hope but when Oosthuizen made par at the short par four 18th to post 16-under it left the Scot needing an eagle two at the last to force a play-off.

A wild drive left looked to have ended Jamieson's hopes but he so nearly pulled off the miracle as his pin-hunting chip trunded just an inch right of the hole.

The tap-in birdie gave Jamieson solo second on 15-under while Thongchai Jaidee was a further shot back in third.

Padraig Harrington fired a closing 68 to take fourth place on 12-under, a shot in front of England's Danny Willett and Frenchman Julien Quesne.

All was going well for Jamieson when he birdied the third and fourth, but a poor drive down the next led to a double bogey six and proved a real momentum killer.

He played the next 11 holes in one over and not until 18 did he find the birdie but by then it was too little too late.

Jamieson, who won last month's Nelson Mandela Championship in the same city, is the first player to lose a five-shot 54-hole lead on the European Tour since Hennie Otto at the 2008 Madeira Islands Open.

Meanwhile, the victory for Oosthuizen lifted him to fourth in the world rankings, a career high.
