Poulter can reproduce form

Ian Poulter is still feeding off his Ryder Cup buzz and is hoping it can help him to a final high in Dubai this week.

The Englishman played a starring role at Medinah, winning four points from four matches, and took that form into the Champions event in Shanghai as he claimed a second World Championship title earlier this month.

He was second at last week's Australian Masters and is understandably full of confidence as he prepares to tee it up at the European Tour's season-ending DP World Tour Championship.

"I feel I can end the year on a pretty high note," he said. "It's been great since September - my golf has been an extension of the Ryder Cup.

"It's the kind of golf I would have expected to play - it was a week I will keep with me for a long time and shows what golf I can play when I'm in that frame of mind."

What he wants most of all, of course, is to reproduce it in the majors next season.

"It's in me. It comes out in the Ryder Cup, so why can't I produce week-in and week-out. When you look at the best players they do," he added.

"Majors are hard to win, but I played well in three of them this year and would like to get closer."

Poulter came seventh in the Masters, ninth at the Open and then third at the USPGA Championship, but his best finish remains runner-up to Padraig Harrington at the 2008 Open.

Victory in Dubai this week should take Poulter back into the world's top 10 for the first time in almost two years.
