The European Tour heads to Kuala Lumpur for the first of three events in Asia.

First staged in 1962, the Malaysian Open became a co-sanctioned 'Euro' event 13 years ago with this week's venue - Kuala Lumpur Country Club - hosting the tournament for a third time.

Located on the outskirts of the capital city, the country club was opened 21 years ago and first staged its national open in 2006.

The undulating venue underwent major renovation in 2007 and 2008, before hosting the Malaysian Open again in 2010.

However, despite a number of changes to the course, the routing remains untouched and this week's tournament has attracted a decent field.

So who's teeing-up?

Nicholas Colsaerts: The increasingly consistent Belgian has posted four top-10s from six stroke-play starts this year.

Mark Foster: His seven rounds at Kuala Lumpur average 69.86. He tied-for-7th on the Costa del Sol last month.

Thongchai Jaidee: Although the 42-year-old Thai is not the force he once was, and is without a European Tour title in almost three years, he can not be ruled out on his home continent.

Jbe Kruger: Flying high at the top of the Asian Tour's Order of Merit, the South African won the Avantha Masters in India during February.

Matteo Manassero: After a week's rest, the defending champion will arrive in Malaysia keen to display the sort of form he showed with his recent top-10 finishes in Spain and Morocco.

Alexander Noren: Has struggled to replicate last year's form during 2012 - when he won twice - but the Swede is more than capable of performing well at a venue where he tied-for-fourth 12 months ago.
