Christian Nilsson cruised to a six-shot victory at the Saint-Omer Open in northern France on Sunday.

The Swede took a four-stroke lead into the final round and never looked like relinquishing his healthy advantage.

A bogey-free 69 ensured he finished on 13-under-par, well clear of Jose-Filipe Lima of Portugal who shot a closing 68 to end up on seven under in second.

James Morrison headed into the final round as Nilsson's closest rival, but the Englishman's challenge evaporated as he struggled to a disappointing 76 that left him 11 shots back.

England's Richard McEvoy, Ake Nilsson of Sweden, Spaniard Javier Colomo and Lorenzo Gagli of Italy tied for third on three-under.

Colombo produced the joint-lowest round of the day, a 66, to clinch his share.

Victory for Nilsson tasted especially sweet as he not only secured a first European Tour title, but also went one better than his runner-up finish in the event 12 months ago.

"It's obviously a massive win for me, so it might take a while to realize just what it means," the 30-year-old Swede said. "I'm still in shock at the moment.

"I was very nervous this morning and I didn't sleep that well last night either. I was just trying to focus on how I was going to play, but so many thoughts were going round my head at the same time.

"So I was extremely pleased with how I handled the pressure today. I'm just so happy."
