"It was certainly the best putting I have done in a long, long time."
Per-Ulrik Johansson Quotes of the week

Per-Ulrik Johansson's Moscow Open lead was cut to four shots by Gary Murphy when the second round was completed on Saturday morning.

Rain interruptions on the opening two days meant half of the 116-field had to come back early on Saturday to finish their second rounds.

Johansson was one of those lucky enough to complete his round on Friday, a magnificent 10-under-par 62 that give him a six-shot lead overnight.

But Irishman Murphy picked up three birdies during his inward half on Saturday morning to sign for a 68 and cut Johansson's lead to four.

Preferred lies

Johansson shrugged off the fact that his 62 will not be recognised as a club record because preferred lies are in operation.

"That's okay, they can have the preferred lies. I've still got my 62 on the board," said Johansson, who also shot a 62 at the 1991 Dutch Open.

Strong putting

The former Ryder Cup player carded six birdies on his front nine and four coming home and attributed his scoring to a combination of strong putting and good lies in the rough.

"It was certainly the best putting I have done in a long, long time," Johansson continued.

"I have been putting well enough and I actually missed a couple from short range in the early part of my round but I did make a lot of long ones.

"I didn't hit it all that great from the tee but when I missed it, I had a decent lie in the rough and I could get it on the green so the way that I was putting I pretty much had a chance for birdie on every hole.

"In fact I actually started laughing on the short eighth hole (his 17th hole of the day).

"I blocked my tee shot right about 40 feet from the hole and first of all Christopher (Hanell, his playing partner) holed his from 45 feet for a birdie two and then I holed mine from 40 feet.

"We all just started laughing when they both dropped in."

Scotland's Richie Ramsay, the 2006 US Amateur champion, completed a level-par second round of 72 to make the cut at two-under-par on his professional debut.
