Bad week

Wales
South Africa outscored Wales by three tries to none to earn a 24-15 win in a ferocious opening game of their European tour. Juan de Villiers and Bismarck du Plessis touched down to give the visitors a 17-6 lead after 17 minutes in Cardiff. Skipper De Villiers finished off a flowing move started deep within his own half by Bryan Habana, while hooker Du Plessis drove his way over after a slick lineout involving No.8 Duane Vermuelen. Scrum-half Fourie du Preez struck the decisive blow as Wales made it just the one win in now 27 games against the Springboks.
Tottenham
Spurs are in seventh in the Premier League table, they only trail leaders Arsenal by five points but there is certainly an uneasy mood around White Hart Lane after they suffered a surprise 1-0 defeat at home against Newcastle on Sunday. They beat Moldovan minnows Sheriff in the Europa League, but only 2-1 and being far from impressive, and that came after they drew another blank at Everton. With nine goals in 11 league games only Palace and Sunderland have scored less than Spurs, and it's not the kind of football the fans are used to seeing.
Briny Baird
Briny Baird's long wait for a PGA Tour win will go on a little longer after he bogeyed the 72nd hole of the McGladrey Classic to hand the title to Chris Kirk. After Kirk rolled in a ten-foot birdie on the 17th to draw level, Baird agonisingly bogeyed the 18th to lose out. It left 41-year-old Baird, who missed the entire 2013 season following surgery on both shoulders, still searching for his maiden victory on the US PGA Tour after missing out on his 365th start.
Wales
Not to pick on Wales, but their rugby league team has had an abysmal time in the World Cup, in front of their homes crowds, losing three times to go crashing out of the tournament. Wales were unable to finish their disappointing campaign on a high note as the Cook Islands created history with a 28-24 victory in Neath. The Kukis triumphed for the first time in the history of the tournament at the sixth time of asking, as Wales lost again following defeats against Italy at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff and the United States in Wrexham.
