Steely focus: Lynn won his second European Tour title in Portugal

Wayne Riley thinks Portugal Masters champion David Lynn is set to taste plenty more success.

"Eight-under-par with the wind that was out there was incredible."

Englishman Lynn has spent much of this season on the PGA Tour, but teed off in Vilamoura and went on to win his second title on the European circuit - nine years after his first at the KLM Open.

And Sky Sports pundit Riley reckons the Merseysider - who finished second to Rory McIlroy at the 2012 USPGA Championship at Kiawah Island to earn a PGA Tour card - can push on, despite exiting his thirties on October 20.

"It looks like his career is beginning at 40, an age at which I retired because I was worn out," said Riley. "He had the putting boots on to win and he looks fresh, fit and strong and can keep going."

Lynn shot a majestic 63 on Sunday - a day after posting 73 - to come from six shots behind overnight leader Paul Waring in Portugal and take the trophy, which was won last year by Shane Lowry.

And Riley was impressed by the way Lynn dealt with his disappointment of round three to end up on 18-under-par, a stroke ahead of Sunshine Tour regular Justin Walters and two ahead of Steven Gallacher, a team-mate of his at last week's Seve Trophy.

"Eight-under-par with the wind that was out there was incredible but it shows that posting a score - and sitting and watching everyone else - is so good," added the Australian.

"He made double bogey at 17 on Saturday but played beautifully on it on Sunday [to tap in for a birdie] and then played from the rough to a nasty front-left flag position on 18 to get a par."
