BMW have long been a huge player in the golf sponsorship market, most notably with their backing of the PGA Championship at Wentworth - the flagship event on the European Tour - but now they want to get their name on golfers around the world.

Their Lifestyle Golfsport Collection is a premium range of clothing, bags and accessories which they hope will get their name out onto the course just as much as their tournament sponsorship.

Of course, not everyone wants to be sporting the BMW logo on their golf gear, but you know some people will! And besides, on all of the apparel and accessories the sign is very subtly located and not splashed all over the items.

T-Shirts are comfortable and functional, not cheap by any means but contemporary and some will want to splash out that little bit extra to try and look a cut above the rest.

The range involves all your usuals such as caps, towels, tees, umbrellas and green sets will all make decent gifts for those interested and are of good enough quality to sport on any course.

Luggage is decent in the range, with bags big enough to fit all your gear in and a very good travel bag which is big enough to fit everything in.

The stars of the range for me though are the golf bags themselves. Again they won't be for everyone but BMW have worked with premium golf bag makers OGIO to ensure that it is a top of the range product.

Again, not cheap, but again the nine-inch stand bag tested is a quality item, looks plenty big enough but is still very light, with ultra-comfortable straps and plenty of storage space.

Out ball and tee storage make for easy access while the bottom ball pocket is magnetic, which I found a nice feature, and there is a drinks compartment and lined valuables pocket.

All in a nice black design meant that I we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bag and the all-round usability. So if you're a BMW owner or fan then there's no excuse to let your mates know about it on the golf course.

The BMW Golfsport Collection is available online at www.bmw-shop.com and from all BMW dealerships.
