Jhonattan Vegas and Scott Langley are tied for the lead after the second round of the Greenbrie Classic, with Tiger Woods safely avoiding back-to-back missed cuts.
Woods shot his second successive round in the 60s to remain four shots off the lead, following up an opening 66 around The Old White TPC with a one-under 69 to comfortably make the cut at five under.
His round was matched by overnight leader Langley, who now has company at the summit after Vegas birdied two of his final three holes to shoot a blemish-free 65.
Woods made a good start with a gain at the second after hitting his approach to two feet, but struck a wayward tee-shot at the par-three 11th and duffed his chip from the fringe for a bogey.
The former world No 1 immediately bounced back by finding the green at the par-five 12 in two and carded a two-putt birdie from ten feet, before following a dropped shot at the next with another birdie at 14.
A bogey five on the 16th dropped him to level par for his round once again but, with Woods losing his cool after spraying his tee-shot at the next in to the water.
Despite taking a drop, Woods found the fairway and saw his 98-yard approach catch the flag and edge of the hole to leave a tap-in par, before completing his round with a six-foot birdie at the last.
Last week's Travelers Championship winner Bubba Watson is alongside Woods in a congested group four strokes back, with 25 players heading in to the weekend within three of the lead.
A back nine 30 from Canada's David Hearn parachuted him in to the eight-man group one off the pace, alongside Greg Owen and Bryce Molder, who picked up four shots in five holes on his back nine to card a six-under 64.
