Jamie Donaldson: Special temporary membership to join the PGA Tour

Jamie Donaldson has joined the PGA Tour for the remainder of the season on a special temporary membership.

The Welshman follows in the footsteps of France's Victor Dubuisson who accepted a similar offer after finishing runner-up at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship last month.

Donaldson became eligible when he earned 257 non-member FedExCup points with his tie for second place at last week's WGC-Cadillac Championship.

That total put him past the amount needed to crack the top 150 in points during the 2013 season, which acts as the benchmark for securing temporary status.

The 38-year-old is now in a position to accept an unlimited amount of sponsor exemptions on the PGA Tour until the end of the 2014 season.

He is next expected to tee it up Stateside at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill next week.

Donaldson is a two-time winner on the European Tour and currently leads the Race to Dubai standings.
