New Zealand's Lydia Ko and Meena Lee of South Korea both fired five-under-par 68s to share the lead after the first round of the Pure Silk-Bahamas LPGA Classic.
The pair are one shot ahead of a group of nine players on a congested leaderboard in the season-opening event at the Atlantis Resort's Ocean Club course.
Ko, 16, mixed six birdies with a sole bogey at the par-four ninth as she made an excellent start to her first full season as a professional.
The highlight of Lee's round was an eagle two at the par-four 13th, although she followed that up by dropping a shot on the 14th, while she also picked up four birdies.
World No 3 Stacy Lewis is among the chasing pack after carding a 69, which was matched by her fellow Americans Jessica Korda, Danah Bordner, Amelia Lewis, Brittany Lang and Austin Ernst.
Korean duo Hee Young Park and Mirim Lee are also on four under along with PK Kongkraphan of Thailand and Candie Kung of Chinese Taipei.
Wales' Becky Morgan is firmly in contention on three under after shooting seven birdies and four bogeys in her round of 70, but England's Jodi Ewart Shadoff opened with a two-over 75.
