Phil Mickelson has moved back into the world's top 10 for the first time since last May after his victory at the Waste Management Phoenix Open.

The 42-year-old left-hander, who just missed out on a 59 in the opening round at Scottsdale, finished four clear of Brandt Snedeker and charged up from 22nd to 10th in the rankings.

His fellow American Snedeker, who was also runner-up to Tiger Woods at Torrey Pines a week earlier, is up to a career-high sixth.

Scotland's Stephen Gallacher leaps from 111th to 60th after making the Omega Dubai Desert Classic only his second success in 404 European Tour starts.

The top 64 after this week's events qualify for the Accenture Match Play Championship in Arizona on 20-24 February.

Irishman Shane Lowry is currently in 64th place with fellow European Tour member Bernd Wiesberger of Austria in 65th position.
