Northern Ireland's Graeme McDowell shot a third-round 68 to stay two shots clear at the World Challenge in California.

McDowell had four birdies in his first 11 holes at Thousand Oaks and kept a bogey off his card, coming home with seven straight pars.

That was good enough to keep the former US Open champion two clear of American Keegan Bradley, who had a best of the day 67 to move into second place on his own.

Third round leaderboard

(US unless stated)
-13 G McDowell (NI)
-11 K Bradley
-8 B Van Pelt
-8 T Woods
-7 J Furyk

Both men have had three rounds in the 60s and will play together in the final group of nine on Sunday.

McDowell started the third round with a three-shot lead over Bradley, Jim Furyk and Bo Van Belt, but Furyk had a 71 and Van Pelt a 70 to drop back.

Tournament host Tiger Woods moved into a share of third place after his second successive 69 and will start the final round five shots back.

On Sunday McDowell will be bidding to win for the first time since his victory in this event in 2010, the same year he won the US Open.
