Robert Karlsson: Looking good on west coast of America
Swede Robert Karlsson and Englishman Ross Fisher are well placed to collect their PGA Tour cards at the 108-hole Qualifying School event in California.
After three rounds at La Quinta two-time Ryder Cup pro Karlsson is in second spot, while Fisher - who represented Europe at Celtic Manor in 2010 - is tied-ninth.
Karlsson's has carded rounds of 66-68-65 to lie one stroke off the pace and four-shots of Fisher whose third day seven-under-par 65 catapulted him 22 places up the leaderboard.
The top 25 places at Q-School, including ties, are rewarded with a PGA card for
2013, and at the half-way stage Fisher is three stroke clear of the all-important cut line.
The leader is 20-year-old South Korean Kim Meen-Whee who is one ahead of Karlsson thanks to a 67 on Friday.
As for those struggling to win back their card are Major winners Shaun Micheel and Todd Hamilton who are currently tied 75th and 132nd respectively.
