Rory McIlroy: Took the title after late birdie blitz
World number one Rory McIlroy produced a stunning late birdie blitz to pass Justin Rose and win the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.
Rose had thrown down the gauntlet with a sensational closing 10-under 62 which included a shot-of-the-year contender at 18 - a 90 foot putt which finished an inch from the hole.
But after trailing by two following a bogey at 13, McIlroy found the gear change he needed with birdies at each of the final five holes.

The birdie two at 17 allowed him to lay up on the par five last but even then he got up and down with a wedge to close out in style and win by two shots on 23-under after a closing 66.
McIlroy, who had already secured the Race To Dubai crown going into the European Tour finale at the Earth course, shared a three-shot lead with Luke Donald at the start of play.
However, the top two in the world rankings rather limped to the turn with McIlroy's birdie putt at nine edging him one in front with nine to play.
But up ahead, Rose really hit the accelerator and birdies either side of an eagle at 14 gave the Englishman a two-shot lead.
Rose kept pushing and birdied the last in amazing fashion after his 90 foot putt almost came to a stop on the slope before trickling down to within an inch of the cup.
His target of -21 looked a tough one but McIlroy, who had watched partner Ian Poulter finish with five straight birdies to secure a vital point and turn the tide at the Ryder Cup, repeated the feat to surge from 18-under to 23-under and claim a dramatic win.
Donald, who never found top gear, finished tied third with Charl Schwartzel of South Africa (-18) while Scotland's Stephen Gallacher (at the fourth) and Dutchman Joost Luiten (at the sixth) both added to a thrilling final day with holes-in-one.
