McIlroy tracking leaders after battling display at Kiawah

Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy is only two shots off the halfway lead in the PGA Championship despite carding a three-over 75 in the second round. McIlroy mixed five bogeys with birdies at the 14th and 16th on a day when only a handful of players broke par as high winds caused havoc at Kiawah Island, especially on the greens. "It was very tough out there to putt because the wind is blowing you all over the place and your ball is oscillating a little bit," he said. "It's very hard just to get settled over the putt but once you are into it, then it is fine. "Getting onto the greens is very difficult but trying to get it into the hole when you are on the green is the hard part. "I am only two back so anything can happen with 36 holes to go so I am pretty happy with that." Tiger Woods, Vijay Singh and Carl Pettersson share the halfway lead at four-under.
