The Korean, who needed just 23 putts on Friday, used up only 25 on day three at the Evian-les-Bains course in the Rhone region in eastern France.

Lewis, a three-time winner on Tour, posted a one-over 73, not helped by a double-bogey seven at the 15th.

The American has led since day one, when she opened with a course record-equalling 63.

Three players share third spot, one stroke behind: Aussie Karrie Webb (67), Natalie Gulbis (68) of the United States, and Korean Kim Hyo-Joo (69).

With the leading 14 players separated by just three strokes, there is much still to play for.

Becky Morgan of Wales is the leading Brit, five off the pace in a tie for 19th.
