Molinari celebrates his WGC victory in Shanghai last November
Francesco Molinari has confirmed that he will compete at next week's WGC-Accenture Match Play.
The Italian had been a doubt for the event in Arizona after his wife Valentina gave birth to their first child two weekends ago.
However, the Ryder Cup star - who last played in the Volvo Golf Champions event in Bahrain at the start of the month - has announced he will make the trip to play in the season's first World Golf Championships event.
The top 64 in the world are all set to play at the moment, leaving former winner Henrik Stenson as first reserve after he was pushed down the rankings by Dane Anders Hansen's second-place finish in Dubai on Sunday.
Ian Poulter won the tournament 12 months ago after beating fellow Englishman Paul Casey in the 36-hole final.
Molinari won the final WGC event of last season in Shanghai in November, edging world number one Lee Westwood into the runner-up spot.
