Third round completed on Sunday morning

Stewart Cink holds a two-shot lead after the third round of the weather-affected PODS Championship at Innisbrook. The American scored three consecutive birdies at the Copperhead Course before bogeying his last hole to shoot a two-under-par 69, the round placing Cink five-under for the tournament. Six players had still been out on the course when play was halted because of fading light on Saturday. However, none of them was able to trim Cink's advantage when returning early on Sunday morning. The big mover on day three in Florida was Australian Geoff Ogilvy who, beginning his third round tied for 17th place, then holed three birdies and one bogey to finish the day on three-under. Ogilvy's 69 places him level with early pacesetter Brandt Snedeker (73) and Billy Mayfair (71).

No inroads made

Second-round leader Snedeker and Mayfair were among those who had to complete their third rounds on Sunday but, with both men parring their three remaining holes, they were unable to make inroads. One of 71 players forced to complete his second round of the rain-soaked event on Saturday morning, Snedeker had then birdied four of his last nine holes to move into contention. Meanwhile, both Tom Pernice Jr. and Sean O'Hair completed level-par rounds to stand three strokes off the pace on two-under. Defending champion Mark Calcavecchia, first-round leader Bart Bryant and Kevin Sutherland are all tied at one-under. But Jeff Maggert, who held a three-shot lead over those who managed to complete Friday's second round, bogeyed seven of his first 12 holes to stand two-over for the tournament after carding a 77. Inclement weather and rain plagued the first two days of the event, with Thursday's first round being suspended due to rain with 82 golfers still on the course. The same story was revealed on Friday, with more than half the field not completing the second round.
