Woods out to put record straight against Australian

Tiger Woods could well have revenge on his mind after being paired with Australian Nick O'Hern in Thursday's opening Presidents Cup foursomes matches. The Australian, who has beaten the world number one on two occasions at the WGC Match-Play Championship, will team up with in-form Korean KJ Choi to take on Woods and Charles Howell III in the final pairing of Thursday's opening matches. O'Hern was in confident mood ahead of the match, stating: "It would be pretty disappointing to not take a victory away from the week. I think we're looking pretty good." US captain Jack Nicklaus is hopeful that the peerless Woods will be able to inspire the best from Howell who has struggled for form in recent times. "Charles has been on a bit of a bumpy road," Nicklaus said. "He needs some help from somebody and I think Tiger is the guy to give it to him. "I felt like if somebody was going to pull Charles up it would be Tiger. After that, my guess is it will be switched off. But I want to get Charles off to as good a start as possible." Elsewhere, Ernie Els will join US Open champion Angel Cabrera to face David Toms and Jim Furyk while Canada's Mike Weir and Fiji's Vijay Singh play Phil Mickelson and Woody Austin. The other pairings see Australians Adam Scott and Geoff Ogilvy line up against Steve Stricker and Hunter Mahan, South Africans Rory Sabbatini and Trevor Immelman challenge Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson and Aussie Stuart Appleby and South African Retief Goosen taking on Lucas Glover and Scott Verplank. Thursday Foursomes: 1315 Steve Stricker-Hunter Mahan (US) v Adam Scott-Geoff Ogilvy (Aus) 1325 Phil Mickelson-Woody Austin (US) v Mike Weir-Vijay Singh (Can/Fij) 1335 Stewart Cink-Zach Johnson (US) v Rory Sabbatini-Trevor Immelman (RSA) 1345 David Toms-Jim Furyk (US) v Ernie Els-Angel Cabrera (SA/Arg) 1355 Lucas Glover-Scott Verplank (US) v Stuart Appleby-Retief Goosen (Aus/SA) 1405 Tiger Woods-Charlie Howell (US) v KJ Choi-Nick O'Hern (Kor/Aus)
