The European Tour makes its third visit to Scotland this season, with many of the game's leading players descending on Gleneagles for this week's Johnnie Walker Championship.
Located in the lowlands of Perthshire, the PGA Centenary Course is the newest and toughest of the three layouts at the Gleneagles Hotel complex.
Designed by Jack Nicklaus and opened 14 years ago, the course has been chosen to stage the 2014 Ryder Cup.
Similar to both of the other courses at Gleneagles - the Kings and Queens - the terrain of the PGA Centenary is undulating with stunning panoramic views.
The Centenary course first staged a European Tour event in 1999 and remains one of the most eagerly-awaited stopping-off points all season.
As for those teeing-up, the main contenders are likely to be:
Paul Casey: The defending champion who is twice a winner over the Centenary layout and is yet to finish outside the top-25 in five visits.
Darren Clarke: Played pretty well in the PGA Championship at Southern Hills after suffering a terrible start to the tournament. Posted a second round 66 in Tulsa which proves he can still play top quality golf.
Nick Dougherty: Has developed into one of the most consistent players on Tour with more than a dozen top-25 finishes already this season. However, the popular Merseysider is still awaiting a second career victory.
Bradley Dredge: Is enjoying one of his better seasons on Tour. Was second at Gleneagles two years ago.
Soren Hansen: Similar to Dougherty is overdue another victory on Tour. The Dane finished second in this event last year.
Colin Montgomerie: Usually performs well on home turf. Has twice finished fourth at Gleneagles where he is averaging 70.67 for his 12 rounds.
