Lee Westwood fired a back nine 29 to take a five-shot lead in to the final round of the Asian Tour's Indonesian Masters.
The former World No 1 picked up seven strokes from his final seven holes to post a seven under 65 at Royale Jakarta GC and close in on a title he previously won win 2011 and 2012.
Beginning the third round three shots adrift of leader Unho Park, Westwood only reached the turn in regulation after following a gain at the par-four sixth with a dropped shot at the next, but produced a sparkling run on the back nine to take control of the $750,000 event.
After a lengthy eagle putt at the par-five 12th pulled Westwood back to the top of the leaderboard, the Englishman posted five birdies in a row despite a weather delay in between to extend his advantage, although was only able to complete the straight forward par-five last in regulation.
"I was plodding along even par for my round through 11 but still only two behind,” Westwood said. “Good runs like that can separate you from the field a bit and it was nice to do that.”
“I had a chance at the last but just blocked my second shot slightly. But if you had given me a 65 after 11 holes I would have snapped your hand off."
Former US PGA Champion Y E Yang finished with a birdie in his third round 69 to move tied-second alongside Thailand’s Namchok Tantipokhakul and Denmark’s Thomas Bjorn, who both shot 71.
Overnight leader Park fell down the field following a disappointing 76, while Thailand's Chapchai Nirat snapped an iron against a tree when trying to play an approach to the fifth green and eventually signed for a 73 and a share of sixth.
