Teenage amateur Cheng Ssu-Chia won the inaugural Xiamen Open on her Ladies European Tour debut at Orient Golf and Country Club.
The 17-year-old high school student from Taiwan carded a closing 68 to finish 10 under par, three shots ahead of France's Marion Ricordeau, who earned the first prize of 37,500 euros due to Cheng's amateur status.
"Actually I was pretty nervous today in my heart, inside myself. For the last part my heart was like, 'boom, boom, boom,' so I tried to stay calm," said Cheng, who had already won three times on the Taiwan LPGA Tour.
"It's the first time I've played in a Ladies European Tour tournament so I feel it was a challenge to myself and made me play well. I did not have high expectations entering this week. I thought it would be a great result if I finished in the top 10.
"I am excited that I finally won because LET players are very competitive. My plan is to turn pro next year."
France's Alexandra Vilatte and American Beth Allen shared third place on six under, with England's Liz Young among those players a shot further back in joint fifth.
