Rory McIlroy says he wants to celebrate winning the European Tour's Race to Dubai for the second time in three years by claiming this week's DP World Tour Championship finale.
Victories in the PGA Championship at Wentworth and the Open Championship at Hoylake as well as the US PGA Championship at Vahalla were enough to see him scoop the No 1 award in Europe.
The world No 1, who was also a key member of Europe's Ryder Cup-winning team, said: "It felt a couple of years ago that there was a lot more on the line. I still had a little bit of a lead I think.
"Regardless that I have won the Race to Dubai, I still want to play really well this week and try and win this tournament because there would be no point in me showing up if I felt that I had already won something and was just here for a good time.
"I want to pick two trophies up on the 18th green on Sunday, instead of one, and I feel like I'm playing well. I've hit the ball well in practice so we'll see what happens."
The 25-year-old Northern Irishman missed the first two Final Series events to prepare for an upcoming court case against a former management company and also sat out last week's Turkish Airlines Open, but he is confident his game will be up to the challenge in Dubai this week.
He added: "It's been ok. The last week or so I've really put my head down and focused on my golf. That's been great. I've really felt I've had a bit of preparation coming into the event. I feel good with my game and hopefully I've done enough work to be ready for Thursday."
McIlroy is also heavily involved in the organisation of next year's Irish Open which will be played at Royal County Down, close to where he grew up.
He said: "I've tried to use any sort of influence or persuasion I have to try and get some of the guys to come over to play it and I'm glad to announce Rickie Fowler has agreed to come over and play. That's hopefully just the start of a few coming on board and playing.
"Rickie's become a very good friend of mine, we actually played in the Walker Cup at Royal County Down in 2007 so it will be good to rekindle that battle, Obviously we've had a few good battles this year - in a couple of the majors and the Ryder Cup."
