Europe head into Day Two of the Ryder Cup as 1/4 favourites to retain the trophy after taking a 5-3 lead over America on the opening day at Gleneagles.

Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose plus Henrik Stenson will all make their third outing for Paul McGinley’s men in the morning session on Saturday, and the odds are in their favour.

Patrick Reed and Jordan Spieth are given America’s best chance of putting a point on the board in Saturday morning’s fourballs.

The rookies are 11/10 to get the better of Europe’s Thomas Bjorn and Martin Kaymer, who are a slightly longer price at 6/5, while a tie is 5/1 with Sky Bet.

However, other than that match, the odds favour Europe’s pairings, as Rose and Stenson are 5/6 to beat Bubba Watson and Matt Kuchar (7/4), while it’s also 5/1 for the point to be shared between them.

Jamie Donaldson and Lee Westwood are 11/10 favourites over their opponents Jim Furyk and Hunter Mahan, although the odds are tight, with the American duo rated 5/4 to take the point.

Finally, 2012 Ryder Cup heroes McIlroy and Ian Poulter reunite to take on rookie Jimmy Walker and Rickie Fowler, with the European duo rated 5/6 to the Americans’ price of 7/4.
