Andre Ward: his head and shoulders above the rest, says Paulie
America knows about this fight. They are waiting to see if either Carl Froch or George Groves are good enough to give Andre Ward a challenge.
It is always a red-hot division but if I am honest our best - Ward - is head and shoulders above the rest at the moment.
"I think we all realise that if Groves does win, the American public will see a new face, a young, fresh face and I think we - and Ward - will be looking at someone completely different to deal with."
We all saw him beat Froch comfortably a couple of years ago but if he thinks he can do better the second time around, he could set up another rematch.
And if Groves can avenge that controversial loss and pull a victory out of the bag, we could well have a new face who can give Ward a fresh challenge.
The consensus over here in the States is that there isn't anyone good enough at 168lbs to match the best in the division. But that is one of the things that makes this fight so good to come over and work on.
It is being talked about over here but over the last month we have had some big fights of our own, like Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, that were taking all the attention but now they are out of the way Froch v Groves will definitely become more important.
I am sure everyone in Britain already has an opinion and wants one or the other to win but for us in the United States we just have the big question that I mentioned, whether either of them can step up and take on Andre Ward. We will find out the answer on May 31.
Carl Froch is a very capable world-class fighter but I am not sure he could do much different if he earned the rematch, but you never know. Whoever wins will hold the IBF and the WBA belts and that will play a big part in what happens next.
But I think we all realise that if Groves does win, the American public will see a new face, a young, fresh face and I think we - and Ward - will be looking at someone completely different to deal with.
You are talking about a champion who dominated the division and you need to be good enough to start with, but curiosity will always play a big part too.
The Americans love Carl Froch. He has brought nothing but excitement to these shores in those Super Six victories he produced. A rematch with Ward would generate interest but the first fight was so one-sided, I think he really needs to produce something special to get back into that mix. But he is a big, big name over here that is for sure.
It is a well-balanced fight already and the experienced big named fighter or the young fresh-faced fighter will be closely watched by Andre Ward and the rest of the United States.
