Timo Glock is poised to leave Marussia, according to reports in the German press.

According to the Bild newspaper, the surprise decision will be confirmed on Monday, with Glock and Marussia opting to part ways by 'mutual consent' less than three weeks before the start of winter testing.

The German driver, who has failed to score a point during his three years at Marussia, has been quoted as saying that he wants a "new challenge and to continue his journey in motorsport", prompting speculation that he will leave F1 - possibly for a DTM role with BMW - rather than fill one of the two vacant seats still to be claimed for the upcoming 2013 season.

Glock's reported departure from Marussia would swell the number of vacancies to three, with Caterham and Force India also yet to announce who will partner Charles Pic and Paul di Resta respectively.

Marussia have already appointed rookie Max Chilton to be one of their two drivers for next season, with Bruno Senna and Vitaly Petrov, both of whom would bring in significant financial backing for the team, already touted as potential replacements for Glock were the reports of his exit to prove prescient.
