Valtteri Bottas: Unable to put mileage on new FW34

Williams's attempts to give their new FW34 a shakedown run in Spain on Thursday were thwarted by bad weather.

The team had headed to the Idiada proving ground outside Barcelona, where reserve driver Valtteri Bottas was to have put the first mileage on the new Renault-powered car.

However, heavy rain intervened leaving Williams to move on to Jerez, where the car will be officially launched on Tuesday morning prior to the start of F1's first pre-season test.

Pastor Maldonado will be joined by Bruno Senna at Williams this season, with Bottas also taking part in a number of Friday practice sessions.
