Williams driver Pastor Maldonado has been suffering a sudden culture shock on his first day back at work in 2012 - swapping the heat of Venezuela for England's rainy winter.

As he took Sky Sports News on a tour of Williams' Grove HQ, Maldonado reflected both on the "big change" in the weather and his hopes for the upcoming season - his first, in his own words, as "an experienced driver and not a rookie".

After enduring a diffucult time in what was statistically Williams' worst season ever, Maldonado's ambition for 2012 is straightforward: "To always be in the points and to fight for better results than last year."

Much will depend on the development work carried out by the South American and his new team-mate, Bruno Senna. The Brazilian's arrival has been welcomed by Pastor, although he is seemingly mindful of the fears that such an inexperienced line-up may lack the wherewithal to drive Williams forward.

"I know Bruno from many years and that will be very interesting as a team to see the development during the year. In F1, we never stop and we need to always improve, and we need to work together to push hard, to be fit and competitive, and to keep pushing the car and the team in the year ahead."
