Despite losing his Williams drive, Rubens Barrichello has insisted that his time in motor racing is not yet over.
After a long wait, Williams finally confirmed on Tuesday that Barrichello would be replaced by fellow Brazilian Bruno Senna for the coming season.
The 39-year-old, already the most experienced driver in F1 history, had hoped to stay with the team for what would have been a 20th season.
Instead, he has had to come to terms with the fact that his F1 career is most likely over. But Barrichello was still one of the the first to congratulate Senna.
"I won't be driving the Williams car this year," he wrote on Twitter. "I wish my friend @BSenna all the best... the future is wide open."

Expanding on the latter comment, Barrichello said that, although his future is undecided, he is determined to remain in motor racing.
He further tweeted: "When I said that things were open is because I still have lot's of speed on me... just like an old friend said: racing is in my blood."
