Mark Webber: Will now not test at Silverstone
Mark Webber will now not attend this week's Young Driver Test at Silverstone after Red Bull altered their plans for the three-day event.
Following confirmation from Daniel Ricciardo via Twitter on Wednesday morning that his eagerly-anticipated appearance in the RB9, which had been scheduled for the opening afternoon, had been moved to Thursday afternoon, focus switly shifted to how this would affect Webber's participation in the event given he had originally been allocated that same slot.
The news duly arrived from the World Champions mid-way through the opening day that "following a clarification of the permitted programmes from Pirelli and the FIA for this week's Silverstone test" Ricciardo and World Champion Sebastian Vettel would be their only two race drivers in action.
In keeping with the rules governing race drivers at this test, both are only able to exclusively focus on testing the new-look tyres Pirelli will bring to Hungary.
Antonio Felix Da Costa will now complete all of Wednesday and continue in the car into Thursday morning, before Ricciardo takes over for a test run which is being viewed in many quarters as an effective audition for a 2014 race seat.
