Fresh speculation claims that Giedo van der Garde will be announced as a race driver at Caterham for the upcoming season.

"This afternoon I will announce my future plans! stay put!" tweeted the 27-year-old Dutchman on Friday morning, who raced for the team in GP2 last season and also served as Caterham reserve driver at six grands prix.

Testing on Sky Sports

From dawn to dusk, Sky Sports Online will be providing live interactive commentary from trackside at both Jerez and Barcelona on every day of testing this winter, while Sky Sports News will be providing regular live updates from the tests, starting with Jerez on February 5-8.

A round-up show featuring the day's interviews from Jerez will go out at 9pm each evening of the test on Sky Sports F1.

Van der Garde finished sixth overall in the feeder series in 2012, recording two wins, is not the only GP2 driver set to move up according to the rumour mill.

Luiz Razia, who finished runner-up last year, has been linked with the vacancy at Marussia where, assuming he gets the drive, the Brazilian would partner Max Chilton, who finished fourth overall.

Meanwhile Jules Bianchi, who competed in GP2 before switching to Formula Renault 3.5 last year, looks set to be revealed by Force India, where he is already reserve.

Sky Sports F1's Martin Brundle tweeted: "If Bianchi,Van der Garde and Razia are confirmed at Force India, Caterham and Marussia as anticipated it will continue a GP2 coup of the F1 paddock."
