Ferrari have revealed their 2013 car, to be launched on Friday, will be called the F138.

Unlike a number of teams, the Maranello outfit don't always follow a set convention over the naming of their cars and this year has proved no different.

The team explained that the F138 name derives from a combination of the current year and the number of engine cylinders - eight - currently permitted in F1, which is the case for the final time in 2013 prior to the introduction of V6 turbos.

Ferrari will unveil the car to the F1 world on Friday morning at their Maranello headquarters with the team aiming to return to World Championship-winning ways in 2013 after narrowly missing out on the drivers' crown with Fernando Alonso last year.
