Sunderland v Swansea
Last Updated: January 27, 2013 5:25pm
Two teams enjoying a good run of form meet at the Stadium of Light on Tuesday as Sunderland entertain Swansea City on Sky Sports.
The Welsh club have not beaten their Wearside opponents since 1982 and so will be determined to set the record straight.
And, coupled with the dramatic 2-2 draw earlier in the season at the Liberty Stadium, it seems certain there will be goals at the Stadium of Light.
Back in September, Steven Fletcher enjoyed a Sunderland debut to remember when he scored twice against the Swans and the Scotland international will be hoping for a repeat performance.
Swansea, though, twice equalised through Wayne Routledge and then Michu, who has gone on to become one of the stars of the season with 16 goals to his name so far in English football.
Though Michael Laudrup has seen his side win just twice in eight league games, Swansea are unbeaten in their last six and have also reached the Capital One Cup final.
Sunderland won last time out with a 3-2 away win at Wigan. In fact the Black Cats' form in the league since the new year has improved to such an extent that they now find themselves knocking on the door of the top ten.
A win over Swansea would provide fans with further cheer after four wins in six games but Sunderland will know they will have to exercise caution against their capable opponents.
