Arsenal v Manchester City
Last Updated: January 7, 2013 12:22pm
The Premier League is back with a battle of the big guns as champions Manchester City travel to Arsenal.
Roberto Mancini's men are second in the league but will need to win at The Emirates in an attempt to reduce Manchester United's 7-point lead at the top of the table.
Arsenal are another 11 points back and face tough competition for the Champions League spots this season from Chelsea, Tottenham and Everton, so a draw will do neither side much good.
The corresponding game last season saw Arsenal nick a late goal through Mikel Arteta to sealed al three points - and also saw Mario Balotelli sent off for two yellow cards.
Their first meeting this season ended all square, although, with an abundance of attackers on both sides, it was the centre-backs that struck at The Etihad. Joleon Lescott headed first for the champions and City looked on course to pick up three points until Laurent Koscielny netted eight minutes from time.
Arsenal - and Theo Walcott in particular - have found some goal-scoring form recently, with 14 goals in their last four league games.
City have their sights set solely on catching rivals Manchester United. They'll be determined to pick up all three points in this clash - although they haven't won away at Arsenal in the League since 1975.
