Getafe recorded their second win of the week thanks to Diego Castro's second-half penalty against nine-man Real Zaragoza.

Getafe recorded their second win of the week thanks to Diego Castro's second-half penalty but struggled to make their numerical advantage count in their 1-0 victory against nine-man Real Zaragoza. Ndri Romaric was shown a straight red card for a dangerous challenge on Mehdi Lacen after just nine minutes but it took until just after the hour mark for the visitors to go in front, when Alvaro Gonzalez saw the game's second red card for tripping Pedro Leon inside the area and Castro just managed to beat Roberto from the penalty spot. Getafe themselves were then reduced to 10 men for the final 10 minutes as Abdel Barrada was also shown a straight red for a mistimed tackle on Jose Mari but Getafe held on to move into the top half of the table. It was the second time in a week that Getafe's opponents had a player sent off in the opening 10 minutes, after Mallorca suffered a similar fate at the Alfonso Perez Coliseum on Monday night, but this time there was little doubt over the referee's decision as Romaric's challenge on Lacen was high and late. However despite being a man down it was Zaragoza who had the better of the chances in the first half as Miguel Angel Moya got down well to save a header from Helder Postiga before Cristian Sapunaru saw another headed effort clip the top of the crossbar. The visitors started to make their man advantage count after the break, though, and after Leon had driven a shot inches wide Zaragoza were even further depleted when Gonzalez was adjudged to have clipped Leon as he broke into the area. Castro stepped up to slot home his second goal of the week but Roberto was visibly furious with himself, having got two hands to the midfielder's spot-kick. Getafe then passed up numerous chances to make the game safe with, Alvaro Vasquez the main culprit as he somehow fluffed his effort from two yards out with the goal gaping. They were thankful to Moya for guaranteeing the points when he made another fine save to repel a Postiga header 11 minutes from time before Barrada was somewhat unfortunate to see the final red card of the day for a tired but not overly malicious foul on Jose Mari.
