    York v AFC Wimbledon preview

    Image: Smith: Injury doubt

Team news ahead of Saturday's League Two clash between York and AFC Wimbledon at Bootham Crescent.

York skipper Chris Smith faces a late fitness test ahead of the weekend tie. Central defender Smith has a badly-bruised and cut shin following the studs-up tackle in midweek by Louis Moult, who was subsequently sent off in the home draw with Northampton. Smith has featured in every game so far this season for the Minstermen and could still play, but Chris Doig and David McGurk provide manager Gary Mills with alternative cover. Latest loan signing Alex Rodman could make his debut for the club after joining on loan this week from Aldershot. Mills now has six strikers at his disposal, with Jason Walker, Ashley Chambers, Matty Blair, Jamie Reed, Oli Johnson and Rodman all vying for three places up front. Mills has no new injury or suspension problems, but midfielder John McReady is not ready to return following his dislocated shoulder and forward Michael Coulson is out for the rest of the season due to knee ligament damage. AFC Wimbledon can welcome back Charlie Strutton for the trip to York. Striker Strutton missed Tuesday night's 2-0 defeat at Exeter after coming down with a virus on the morning of the match. Defenders Mat Mitchel-King (back) and Callum McNaughton (knee) did not travel to Devon despite having recovered from their recent lay-offs, meaning boss Neal Ardley could only name six substitutes. They could return to the squad but fellow centre-half Pim Balkestein (groin) is still out along with midfielder Sammy Moore and forward Jason Prior (both leg). Loan signings Jonathan Meades and Jake Reeves will play as they will be ineligible for the FA Cup replay with the Minstermen on Monday. The Dons drew 1-1 at York in their first-round clash last weekend.
