He was thought to be in contention for Saturday's game, but Mick McCarthy doubts whether he will play.
Fellow centre-back Breen also played for the reserves after a knee problem, but the game is expected to come too soon.
Michael Kightly (ankle) will again definitely miss the clash, while goalkeepers Matt Murray and Graham Stack both remain sidelined with knee problems.

Foxes boss Ian Holloway is likely to select from the same squad which slumped to a 2-0 defeat at Hull City last week.
