Lens goal not enough for World Cup finalists

Holland were held to a 1-1 draw by Ukraine in their first game since the World Cup final. Bert Van Marwijk named a young side for the game as he rested a number of Holland's key stars following their exploits in South Africa. Jermaine Lens marked his debut for Holland with the opening goal on 73 minutes when he scored from close-range after Theo Janssen's long-range effort had come back off the crossbar. However, the lead proved short-lived as Oleksandr Aliev levelled matters just two minutes later with a fine free-kick. Jeffrey Bruma, Siem de Jong and Ricky van Wolfswinkel were all handed their Dutch debuts as van Marwijk looks to blood some youngsters ahead of their Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Holland begin their Euro 2012 Group E qualification away to San Marino on 3rd September.
