Tranmere v Notts County preview

Team news for Saturday's League One clash between Tranmere Rovers and Notts County at Prenton Park.

Tranmere have no new concerns for their crunch League One game against fellow strugglers Notts County. Assistant manager John McMahon reported a clean bill of health following Tuesday's 2-0 loss to Brentford which leaves Rovers mired in the bottom four ahead of the meeting with the basement-dwelling Magpies. Captain James Wallace has received a number of minor knocks lately, including one to his ankle earlier in the week, but McMahon will continue to utilise him in central midfeld. Tranmere only have one absentee on the sidelines with Abdulai Bell-Baggie's season possibly over because of a knee problem. Notts County captain Dean Leacock is battling to be fit for the trip to relegation rivals Tranmere. The defender came off injured shortly before half-time during the 3-1 home defeat to MK Dons on Tuesday night. James Spencer is available again after serving a three-match suspension and he could partner Nathan Tyson in attack. Magpies manager Shaun Derry, whose team could climb off the bottom of the table and to within two points of safety with victory at Prenton park, will hope that Gary Liddle can play for a third time in the space of eight days after making his comeback from a lengthy lay-off with ankle ligament damage.
