Team news ahead of Saturday's League One clash between Tranmere and Colchester at Prenton Park.

Tranmere boss Les Parry could recall fit-again striker Dale Jennings. Jennings, 18, has been sidelined with a groin injury for the past month, although he played for the reserves in midweek and is edging closer to a first-team return. Parry said Jennings will be assessed, and explained: "The chances are if he's fully fit he'll play." Ryan Fraughan and Alan Mahon played the full 90 minutes for the reserves and may come into contention but Lateef Elford-Alliyu is nursing a knee injury and will be monitored. Tim Cathalina tweaked a hamstring playing for the second string in midweek, although Parry said: "That doesn't seem to be too bad but we'll have a little look at him." Loan signing Tommy Smith will go straight into the squad for Colchester. The New Zealand international defender joined the U's on Thursday and could push for a place in the starting line-up at Prenton Park. David Mooney will serve the final game of his three-match ban after being sent off in the home defeat to Southampton. Defender Magnus Okuonghae will miss the rest of the season after underoing an operation on his ankle, while Pat Baldwin is also sidelined with a long-term Achilles problem. Colchester will be looking to complete the double over Rovers, having beaten them 3-1 earlier in the season.
